We are delighted to announce that Bramhall Bakery- Poynton is now open for business. After a complete refit, all the building, testing, training and other preparations are complete. We are loving working in the new larger bakery and our new team are settling in well.
Like our award-winning Bramhall shop, the stylish and modern bakery, will specialise in baking great quality bread, from scratch. The bakery will make and sell the same popular range as Bramhall.
We will bake from the early hours of Tuesday to Saturday every week – so if you are going past on your way home from a night out, we haven’t left the lights on, the team is already busy ,making tomorrow’s bread!
We opened on Wednesday 17th September and have had great support so far from the local community.
You could well have tried our bread without even realising it. We supply to a select few wholesale customers. One of these is ‘Vanilla in Allseasons’ who have recently been crowned “Best Outside Catering Company” at the North West County Brides awards. They are passionate about great food and service, we are delighted to supply them with a range of our bread.
They cater for all manner of events as well as weddings, and the bread we make especially for them complements each bespoke menu. Our tiny buns look fabulous transformed into mini canapé burgers and our spinach and feta loaf is the perfect accompaniment to their classic wedding breakfast of Chicken Supreme.

We are always looking to do things a bit differently. So far we have brought you chocolate in a hot cross bun, muesli in a bread and bakewell in a bun! We are always working hard on our range and now we are adding a bit of fun to the traditional afternoon tea! How about a double chocolate scone with your clotted cream and strawberries?
Introducing a new scone filled with decadent chocolate chips in a moist chocolate scone base. They are delicious on their own, but for a real treat, we recommend some morello cherries and cream.
Keep your eyes open, we are always trying new things, our other recent addition – the lime and ginger slice – is proving to be a big hit. There are lots of other little projects on the horizon too, so watch this space….
We are very excited to share the news with our loyal customers, that a new stage of the Bramhall Bakery story is underway.
We are expanding into a second bakery, just up the road in Poynton. Our little home here in Bramhall just can’t keep up with the demand for great bread!
The building project will take several months, (we do like a challenge)! Once we are open, the increased capacity means that we will be able to better improve and develop the product range. We will also be creating a number of new jobs for the local economy – we are recruiting for a number of roles (see the Careers page of our website for more information).
Follow our progress here and don’t hesitate to ask us any questions about our plans.
Scott, Jo and the Bramhall Bakery team
The favourite so far is French toast – it is so delicious & easy we thought we would share it with you. We tried it with fruit, but I think it would be delicious and gooey with the chocolate ones too!
80ml single cream 2 eggs, lightly whisked 2 teaspoons caster sugar 1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon 40g butter 4 x day old hot cross buns, cut in half Maple syrup & fresh fruit, to serve
Place the cream, egg, sugar and cinnamon in a medium bowl and whisk with a fork until combined.
Melt half the butter in a large non-stick frying pan over a medium-high heat until foaming. Dip half the bun slices, 1 at a time, in the egg mixture and place in the hot pan. Cook for 1 minute each side or until golden brown. Transfer to a plate and repeat with the remaining butter, bun slices and egg mixture.
Serve immediately topped with fresh fruits (such as figs or blueberries) and drizzle with maple syrup.
Our delicious hot cross buns are hand made fresh every morning for you. Scott is as obsessive about the perfection of these buns as he is about Aussie country music!
We mix them to a smooth silky dough, with just the right amount of spice and fruit or chocolate chips, before lovingly moulding each one by hand. Once they have had time to rise a bit, we cross them, then pop them in the oven until you have the beautiful golden brown buns you see in the shop.
As soon as they are cool, we bag them up to keep them super soft for you. They are a labour of love and we really hope you enjoy eating them as much as we enjoy making them! The chocolate ones are a particular hit among the team!
I’m sure you will have seen all the recent bad press that the food industry has been receiving for hiding all sorts of ingredients in foodstuffs. We are, and have always been, 100% committed to making healthy wholesome bread with nothing hidden in it. For instance even the fruit loaves get all of their sweetness from the fruit content rather than any added sugar.
So, we have been thinking about how to make a healthier loaf and we are delighted to introduce our new Wholemeal Crunch. This loaf has all the taste of our classic Cotswold Crunch but 40% less salt. It is also made with 100% wholemeal flour which means it is high in fibre too! It is available in the shop now in a range of sizes.
It’s that time of year again and Christmas preparations are in full swing at the Bakery.
As last year, we are taking orders for Christmas bread on 23 or 24 December – order forms are available in store or you can download here Christmas Order Sheet 2013v1 We also take orders every day and so if you want to ensure special breads any other day of the festive season then call or drop in and we will be happy to help.
We have a few Christmas specialities in store. Our Christmas Teatime Jubilee is deliciously moist, made with sweet spiced mincement to encapsulate the flavours of Christmas. Our Christmas mini scrolls are made with marzipan and spiced fruit to give a stollen type treat. Our original bakes have even featured in the Christmas issue of Cheshire Life!
This week has been all about back to school or, in the Bramhall Bakery household, the very first day of school! All those schoolbags full of packed lunches got me thinking about sandwiches and sandwich fillings.
What is your favourite combination with Bramhall Bakery bread?
For me, when I’m in the mood for something special, Bramhall Bloomer with some trout (and dill) is an absolute favourite. On a normal day, tuna mayo with cucumber on the seeded multigrain or roast ham and cheese on Cotswold crunch fit the bill. And of course, Sunday isn’t complete without bacon on a white round roll.
Today it’s going to be Thai red chicken on a continental roll (I think…).

A few weeks ago we received the exciting news that we have been shortlisted for a Stockport Business Award, in the category of Independent Retailer of the year. After only being open for 12 months, it is great to be recognised for the hard work and high standards that we aspire too.
It is great to be part of the business awards which are organised by a local Accountancy firm Clarke Nicklin, to celebrate the high quality of businesses and business people in Stockport. There are so many exciting things happening in Stockport and it should be celebrated much more.
